Pentecostal Bridegroom Temple, Inc.

"Where love is alive, salvation is preached, and change is inevitable"

Pastor Kevin M. Young was born September 25, 1969 to Elder Ronald and Sister Rose M. Young in Indianapolis, Indiana. The family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma in early 1970 and Pastor Young received his early education through the tenth grade in the Tulsa Public School system. The family relocated in 1985 to Cherry Hill, New Jersey when Elder Ronald Young was called to pastor Pentecostal Bridegroom Temple in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pastor Young completed his high school education at Cherry Hill East High School where he received his diploma in 1987.

He enrolled at Restaurant School of Philadelphia where he graduated with the degree in Chefs Training. Upon graduation he was hired as an Assistant Cook for the Homeless Shelter operated by Word to the World Ministries founded by his father. He later was promoted to Head Cook and eventually to Vice President of Food Services. Through his innovative and creative leadership he was able to implement new buying procedures, inventory controls and management procedures. His efforts allowed the Homeless Shelter to feed five hundred (500) men, women and children three meals per day plus daily snacks. When the City of Philadelphia reduced the Homeless Shelter Program resulting in the closure of the Shelter, Pastor Young taught World Foods to seventh and eighth graders for two years at Bridegroom Christian Academy, allowing him to pour into them both natural and spiritual knowledge.

In 1991 Pastor Young was called by God into the preaching ministry where he began to be mentored by his father/pastor. He attended Minister's Training classes and quickly showed there was a special anointing on his life. It was during this same year that he met and fell in love with Yahne C. Payne. In May of 1991 he was stricken with a life-threatening, unidentified virus which left him in a coma for six (6) weeks and, upon coming out of the coma, was paralyzed from his neck to his feet. The paralysis left him unable to walk or talk. He required extensive rehabilitation for one year before his speech and walking functions fully recovered. It proved to be a life-changing experience in which ministry became his focus while yet pursuing his God-given gift in culinary arts.

He was hired by Pattie Labelle as Executive Chef for her restaurant and later worked for the Ritz Carlton Hotel. He later founded Dining Four Stars Catering Company through which he was personal chef for many NBA and NFL players and their families. In 1994 he married Yahne, the one whom his soul loved, and they began to focus on the calls that God had placed on them for ministry. He was active in the ministry of Pentecostal Bridegroom Temple and the Greater Pennsylvania State Council of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. He served the local assembly as Youth Director, Teen Sunday School Teacher, member of Finance Ministry, and member of the Receiving Room. He served as Assistant Director of the Young People's Auxiliary of the Greater Pennsylvania State Council.

In 1998 Pastor Young received his ministerial license from the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc, and in 2007 was ordained through the same organization. Under the pastorate of Bishop Ronald L. Young he was appointed Assistant to the Pastor and later promoted to an Associate Pastor. After serving faithfully in this capacity he was elevated to Lead Associate Pastor. Bishop Ronald Young determined to change his role to Senior Pastor whereupon he elevated Elder Kevin Young to Pastor where he has continued to serve until September of 2012. He has proven to be a student of the Word and a profound preacher and teacher. He has displayed a great love and appreciation for the people of God and all of the attributes of a true "Shepherd" for the congregants at Pentecostal Bridegroom Temple.
